    Muhammad Yahya Polani, Prominent Travel Industry Figure, Passes Away in Karachi

    KARACHI: Muhammad Yahya Polani, Chairman of Polani Group and a prominent personality in Pakistan’s tour and travel industry, passed away in the early hours of Monday, leaving the business, travel and social communities in deep grief.

    Yahya Polani was widely recognised for his longstanding contribution to Pakistan’s travel and tourism sector. Over the years, he remained actively involved in the development of the travel trade and was respected for his professional services, social engagement and warm-hearted personality.

    The funeral prayer of the deceased was offered at Memon Masjid, Shaheed-e-Millat Road, and was attended by a large number of people from the business community, civil society, political circles and various sections of the city. City elders, political leaders, representatives of trade and industrial bodies, social welfare organisations, charitable institutions and members of the travel fraternity also attended the funeral prayer.

    Following the funeral prayer, Muhammad Yahya Polani was laid to rest at the Tariq Road Graveyard later in the day.

    The Soyum and Dua will be held at Memon Masjid, Shaheed-e-Millat Road, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, where family members, friends, business associates and members of the community are expected to attend and offer prayers for the departed soul.

    A Life of Business and Social Service

    Muhammad Yahya Polani continued his family’s legacy following the passing of his father, Haji Siddiq Polani, who was a renowned social figure of the Memon community. Yahya Polani remained actively involved in various welfare and community-oriented activities across Karachi.

    Those who knew him described him as a popular, warm-hearted and cheerful personality who maintained strong relationships across business and social circles. His approachable nature and willingness to engage with people earned him respect among colleagues, business associates, community members and friends.

    His contributions to the travel and tourism industry also made him a familiar and respected name among professionals associated with Pakistan’s tour and travel sector.

    Business Community Expresses Grief

    The business community expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Muhammad Yahya Polani and paid tribute to his services and contributions.

    United Business Group (UBG) Patron-in-Chief S.M. Tanveer, President Zubair Tufail, Khalid Tawab, Hanif Gohar, Rafique Suleman, and Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice President FPCCI, were among those who expressed their condolences.

    Leaders and representatives from the media, business and social sectors, including Shabbir Mansha, Fazil Jamili, President Karachi Press Club (KPC), Aslam Khan, Secretary KPC, Rizwan Bhatti, former Secretary KPC, Ubaidullah Qadri, Haji Masood Parikh, Gulzar Firoz, and Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association Chairman Malik Khuda Bakhsh, also expressed their heartfelt sorrow.

    Tariq Haleem, Captain Abdul Rasheed Abro, Mian Zahid Hussain and other prominent business and community leaders also conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.

    The condolence messages were addressed to Yahya Polani’s son Safwan Polani, his brothers Tariq Polani and Wahab Polani, and other members of the bereaved family.

    The business and travel communities expressed their prayers for the departed soul and offered their deepest sympathies to the family during this difficult time.

    May Allah Almighty grant Muhammad Yahya Polani the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and grant patience and strength to his family and loved ones. Ameen.
